eCutout Pro functions

The basic task being solved with the eCutout Pro program is optimal cutting of sheet materials. This version of the program carries out the original optimization algorithm that significantly reduces material waste during cutting and the number of various cutting plans which is especially important in production of large amounts of items since it allows loading the cutting machine most fully.

Besides solving the cutting task, the program implements various features that expand its areas of application. Hence, the program can be used for preparing a number of documents used in the manufacture. Besides the cutting plans and statistic information for the present moment, the program generates the part edgebanding schemes, batch statements and raw material usage per order statement.

The program maintains a number of various references. This allows you to create your own part and assembly libraries, that help you to avoid errors that occur during manual data entry.

The substitution (generic materials) mechanism allows you to create a sole object scheme for different realizations. For instance, for an item to be a facade component you can specify a generic "Facade material", for side components - generic "Side material". When the order is filled, you specify with which material these generic items must be substituted. Thus, you will have the task with the parts made of the required material.

Should you need to use several different materials, the program will create a separate sub-task for each material. During the automatic planning and manual editing, the remainder of the material sheets being used is monitored. When the order status changes, the remainder values automatically update.

Advanced features

The program can import data from external applications. The parts can be imported through Clipboard (from Excel or Word respectively), from comma-separated text file, and from eCutout 1.x task files.

Should you have acquired large amounts of data, the program's database can be moved to a dedicated SQL server. The main advantage of this approach is possibility of multiuser work. Apart from, this improves the data storage reliability and lets you deploy access restrictions. When the data is stored on a corporate SQL server, the automatic backup includes the cutting programs' data as well.

To generate the reports, the program uses the XSL technology. As a result of this, you can individually configure the existing reports and create your own reports alike.

Minimum requirements

In order to install and evaluate the program, you will need a computer with the following system features: Celeron-class CPU, 64Mb of RAM, free hard disk space of not less than 15Mb, Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP operating system.

The most loaded hardware resource is the CPU. Increasing the processor's clock will improve the "quality"/"cutting time" ratio.
